Welcome to Luxor
Luxor is often called the world’s greatest open-air museum, but that comes nowhere near describing this extraordinary place. This enchanting city is located right along the great Nile River, about 500 kilometers south of the modern Egyptian capital, Cairo. Luxor is the best place to learn about ancient Egypt. Walking along the ruins is like stepping back 3,000 years in time.
Luxor is a city on the east bank of the Nile River in southern Egypt. It's on the site of ancient Thebes, the pharaohs’ capital at the height of their power, during the 16th–11th centuries B.C. Today's city surrounds 2 huge, surviving ancient monuments: graceful Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple, a mile north. The royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens are on the river’s west bank.
. This huge temple complex was the center of the ancient egyptian faith. It is considered as the largest temple complex ever constructed anywhere in the world. It is considered to be built around 2000bc, 35meter high temple catch the eyes of all spectator who visit here .famous pharaohs such as Hatshepsut, Tuthmose III, Seti I and Ramesses II all contributed significant additions to the complex, construction continued into the Greco-Roman Period with the Ptolomies, Romans, and early Christians all leaving their mark here.
My experience visiting this huge complex was mouth opening... The structure, the sculptures, the buildings and the decorations were just eye catching..
This is one of the best spot in Luxor to study ancient Egypt history along with capturing long lasting memories and pictures...

Luxor Temple is located in the modern city of Luxor, which is built on the site of the ancient Egyptian capital of Thebes. The temple is one of the best preserved of all of the ancient monuments with large amounts of structure.
The Temple's location in the heart of Luxor makes Luxor Temple a very easy site to visit at almost any time of the daytime. I recommend visiting the temple around sunset.
